Tortuga Bay Painting Challenge
Tortuga Bay Painting Challenge
Tortuga Painting Challenge - in partnership with TableTop Terrain and Dave’s TimeWarp
Goal is for a cohesive beachfront followed by a cohesive Spanish town. Please use the below color palette to ensure this.
Guidelines:
finished product due November 13, 2026 plan to bring to TimeWarp that evening.
Should have interiors painted and accessible on the final product; this is for both buildings and island cave interiors. Where possible, please pin doors so they can be opened and closed. Ask for help if you are new to this.
Please use the color guidelines below. Failure to do so may result in the repainting of your project.
We have great ideas for customization. Please consider that these are for a business's website. Before you customize, please message Len/Hob. worst case, save customizations for after the final challenge photos have been taken.
COLOR GUIDE:
The below uses GW's Citadel Paints. You can use alternative options, just please try to match this color palette.

All Buildings: White Primer, could use bone on Spanish buildings
Sand: Tan Primer (Zandri Dust)
Rocks: Light Grey Primer (Army Painter Ash Grey)
Scatter Items
Barrels: Various browns
Rope: various tans
ISLANDS:
Huts
Roof: Snakebite Leather then Aggaros Dunes
Wood: Wyldwood, drybrush Karak stone
Wood posts: Garaghak’s sewer
Stone: On primer, drybrush Dawnstone - a more earthy grey tone. Edge highlight with Administratum Grey
Sand: Tan Primer (Zandri Dust) if available, or use white primer. Skeleton Horde Contrast, Drybrush Karak Stone
For this round, please do not add texture to maintain consistency across the project.
SPANISH VILLAGE:
Exterior Walls: On White primer, color in Skeleton Horde Contrast Paint. Dry brush with Karak Stone If you use a bone primer, suggest drybrushing in white before the Karak Stone step above.
Doors, railings, and Window frames: We are aiming for a Caribbean theme for Tortuga, which opens up some color variation on doors and window frames - please limit your choices to Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and stick with straight colors, not pastels. If you are not interested in a splash of color, please use the Wyldwood or a similar dark brown. Possible colors: Blue> Citadel Contrast Stormfiend
Roof tiles: Please use a deep Red color for the tiles - we have some flexibility with this step, as the sun would bleach tiles differently.
Interior: See exterior. Please use your discretion here, at least a color on the walls and floors, details are at your choice.
